Alberto Grazzi studied the bassoon at Reggio Emelia and Milan, graduating in 1987.

In 1985 he joined the European Baroque Orchestra and from then on he has been active, both as an orchestral player and as a soloist, in most of the important European orchstras such as Concentus Musicus Wien, English Baroque Soloists, Le Concerts des Nations and The English Concert, with whom he has been Principal Bassoon since 1990 and has recorded several concertos.

He teaches in Milan and Verona as well as in summer courses in Urbino and Innsbruck, and for the foundation "La Caixa" in Spain. As a solist he has recorded for Teldec, Atreé-Auvidis, Astreé-Naive and DG-Archiv.
